Finished Tulips Cardigan

My Tulips cardigan has been almost finished for about a week, but for me, some of the steam gets lost when finishing. Weaving in ends and doing the applied i-cord just wasn’t as much fun as the color part. It is, however, gorgeous and totally worth the fussy parts.

I’m not sure if it was my technique or if it’s the pattern, but I found the applied i-cord to be really tight on the fronts of the sweater. I even had to use the larger needles instead of the smaller ones it called for. I’ve never knit an applied i-cord before, so I’m  not sure. It’s still a bit tight, but I think it looks cute that way, so I’m okay with it. I also added was a wider sleeve band. Miss Elsie tends to grow out of my sweaters in the sleeves first, so I gave her a little extra there.

I could just stare at the colors for days. And it got me thinking… wouldn’t this changing color stripe pattern make a great baby blanket?  It would be all the fun with no fuss.
